What is ENEX?

Endurance Exploration has its roots in an exploration trip to Colonia, Sagittarius A*, and Beagle Point that took place during the summer of 3308.

Although exploration is a big part of the org, it has interests in many other areas of activity within the Elite Dangerous galaxy including combat, mining, and trading. Helping CMDRs is a core focus and we welcome anyone who needs support or advice about getting started as a CMDR, upgrading to a new ship, improving their ground combat, trying to afford a fleet carrier, and more.

If Elite Dangerous seems a bit overwhelming, we can help. As the current Endurance Expedition has ended for this year, thoughts have now turned to the future of the Elite Dangerous galaxy and Endurance Exploration’s place in it. CMDRs Hatch, Dim3bar, FiL, and Campbell have thoroughly enjoyed the journey to Colonia, Sagittarius A*, and Beagle Point. We’ve had fun and, most importantly, made new friends along the way.

The CMDRs who took part in the expedition thoroughly enjoyed the 171-day journey to Colonia, Sagittarius A*, and Beagle Point. It was challenging, and fun, and, most importantly, new friends were made along the way. To keep the Endurance Expedition community going CMDRs Campbell], Dim3bar, Hatch, and FiL decided to form a squadron called Endurance Exploration. The name came about from the 2022 discovery of Antarctic explorer Ernest Shackleton’s ship Endurance which sank in 1915.

For quite some time we played with the idea of Endurance Expedition becoming something more than an event, and so Endurance Expedition made the change over to a CMDR org/company in the ED galaxy with, eventually, our own system we can call HOME. It can provide a base for the squadron to grow and where squadron CMDRs can meet or base themselves. We already have the growing ENEX (PC) squadron that focuses on recruiting CMDRs of all levels and abilities alongside plans for future group activities.

As our applications to become a player minor faction were unsuccessful, the LHS 5333 system has been adopted and BGS support operations are taking place on behalf of the Tigurd Shared faction. Endurance Exploration will also continue to run expeditions and excursions (combat, trading, community goals, exploration, Guardian and Thargoid sites, material gathering, etc) in the future as well. Any suggestions for expeditions or excursions are always welcome.

Exploration will always be at the core of what we do but the galaxy offers lucrative opportunities for combat and trade as well. Whether it’s getting a better suit, ship, or even fleet carrier, learning to fight in ground combat, or getting access to the Guardian modules we can help.

Endurance Exploration allows CMDRs to make their own choices but reap the benefits of an org providing help as and when it’s needed. Fly with the squadron or continue flying alone with ENEX’s support structure backing you up. You can choose. Endurance Exploration is an independent squadron with no ties to any of the main powers in the galaxy.

As such ENEX CMDRs are free to continue supporting their chosen power with no squadron interference. We already have a wide variety of squadron members who support independent, imperial, federation, and alliance powers.

With Salvation’s weapon failing to deliver victory against the Thargoids and multiple Stargoids arriving in the Bubble, the future state of the galaxy depends on CMDRs working together. It is a daunting task working within the Bubble now let alone fighting the Thargoids. We all need friends in an increasingly dangerous galaxy and Endurance Exploration can provide a fun and friendly support network for all commanders.
